Many thanks to everyone that have been supporting my project In the Pocket. It’s starting to feel like the project has legs now. The support we have received has been really great. But, it needs support to keep it moving. You can do that by sending an email@example.com and ask to hear “Open My Eyes” from In The Pocket/Dave Uosikkinen. If you’d like to know about the Settlement School here is a link.

Many thanks to everyone supporting the project In The Pocket:
I must admit that it feels great to hear that WTPA radio in Harrisburg is playing Open My Eyes from ITP. I didn’t hear it with my ears but I got wind of it, so, thank you very much WTPA radio.
Come out and see me jam with some of the friends that helped me with the recording of Open My Eyes and All My Mondays. come out to the World Cafe Live Tuesday Jan. 25th.
Open My Eyes originally done by the the NAZZ is the next song on songsinthepocket.org. OME is one of my all time favorite songs. I learned how to play the drums listening to that song. But, I couldn’t figure out how to play the solo section. When it was decided that it was the path we were on I had to look at the section for real. It was a challenge to say the least. Not so much for what it is. Mine was to make it feel smooth. The transitions and keep it rockin’ and not sterile. I’m really happy with it, I can’t wait for you hear it. The track features Jeffrey Gaines on vocals. Rick Difonzo on guitar and vocals, Eric Bazilian Electric 12 twelve string & vocals, Bill Wittman bass and vocals, Rob Hyman Keyboards and vocals, John Senior engineered the session and of course I played on it. We hope to have it available with in a week or so. There will also be a short video from the session available at Songsinthepocket.org.
I want to wish you a Merry Christmas… I hope you get to spend it with the ones you love. Family, friends, pets. It’s Christmas. Yea!
Here’s an “In The Pocket” update. We are going to mix Open My Eyes once Bill Wittman gets off the road from Cyndi Lauper’s tour. The video is being edited by Steve Acitto at Bluewire Media.
I hope to have it out by early January. We are also planning another release party for the ITP and the song Open My Eyes. Late January as well. I’m going to invite the guys that played on the tracks. We had a lot of fum the last time around. If you are on Facebook become a fan of the IN THE POCKET page and you will get an invite to the EVENT. All the best Dave

I’ve been working on a project that’s been in the planning stages for months. It’s called ITP- IN THE POCKET. Breaks down like this.
ITP is the band. The website in development (translation NOT READY YET) url is:songsinthepocket.org. You will be able to download the song for 99 cents and see a video and photos of the recording session along with history of the song.
I initially planned to record a CD. But, thought it’s a waste of my time and money. Using a newer approach appealed to me, so I’m taking this path. This is why…
When I was a kid, I used to go into a record store and look at the record jackets. I did this for what seemed like hours. I was a wacky kid. But, I dug music and bands. I loved album artwork and I really liked reading liner notes. Just knowing who did what when was cool to me. It brought me closer to the music. In short, this experience is what I’d like to achieve with IN THE POCKET.
We shot video and photos and the recording session at the same time we cut the track. It’s easier said then done. I’m really happy with our progress. We are mixing the song and the video is is being edited. It’s been a gas. I hope you check it out.
Steve Acito at Bluewire Media shot the video of the session. Steve also produced my daveudrums.com video. He rocks and so does his team. We brought in a photographer, Roger Alex Lewis, during the recording to capture photos.
Can’t wait for you to see it.
